Significant Reductions in Effort
- A request to significantly reduce the effort of key personnel effort must be sent to and approved by the agency prior to reducing effort for key personnel per the policy of that agency:
- For NIH, this means the Principal Investigator(s) and any individual specifically named in the Notice of Grant Award. NIH considers a reduction of effort of greater than 25% to be a significant reduction.
- For other agencies, per written policy.
