PDF InformationAcrobat Reader Acrobat Reader - Link to Adobe web page for the free Acrobat Reader There are two methods that can be used to download these forms from our website. The first method, is to click (PC=left click, Mac=single click) on the link to the form, this will request that the form be brought up in the browser. Once the form is present in the browser go to the file menu and choose save as. A save dialog box will appear to navigate and name the file as appropriate. Due to extensive traffic on Emory's network it is possible for the browser to freeze when trying to display some of the larger forms. The second method, is to alternate click (PC=right click, Mac=Alt click) on the link to the form, this will bring up a small menu. From the menu choose "Save link as ..." which will bring up a save dialog box. From this dialog box navigate and name the file as appropriate. The Office of Research Administration is migrating our local forms to iPDF (interactive PDF) format. Our decision was based on a number of criteria. First, the level of support that is necessary to maintain the Microsoft (MS) Word and Excel forms for both PC and Mac is greater than the resources available. Second, the Word and Excel forms are not platform, software version, or printer device independent. Third, the Federal agencies have also begun to utilize the iPDF format in several of their electronic initiatives and have stated that they will continue to do so. For example, NSF now requires that a PDF version of the face page be submitted. We strongly suggest that these forms be used with Acrobat version 4.0 or greater. Acrobat versions 3.x and appropriate plug-ins do have known inconsistencies in dealing with java script code. This code is typically associated with performing mathematical functions. Therefore, your experience may be that a form may work correctly one time and not another. We will continue to post customized RTF files as resources allow. While we are still making these forms available we do not have the resources to provide support for them. Use of the any iPDF templates requires users to have access to the following software:
Please note that if you are using Acrobat Reader you WILL be able to fill-in and print the forms, but you WILL NOT be able to save the completed form or perform other types of functions.
